CBS Power Tools wanted to put something back into the community. Staff at CBS Power Tools have been helping out at the Peterborough Winter night shelter project for a number of years. The project involves churches in the local area who provide overnight accommodation for homeless people in Peterborough. A bed, evening meal and breakfast are provided in a safe environment.
It came to our attention that the toilet facilities at the church were outdated and have not been updated in around 40 years. The toilet furniture, plumbing, sinks and mirrors were all updated.
We would like to thank our customers Phil, Steve and their friend who volunteered to paint the ceiling. We also give thanks to city plumbing (Ivatt Way) for providing the sinks for the toilets. These acts of charity and selflessness go a long way to give the homeless residents of Peterborough a warm and safe environment at the time of the year when the cold weather poses the biggest threat to those without a home.
Thanks to the generous donation of time and resources, as well as the people at Brookside Church, we hope we have made this time of year better for some of the homeless residents of Peterborough. We hope the newly refurbished toilets in the church will serve the community for years to come and wish the Light Project and Brookside Church the best of luck in helping the homeless feel welcomed during the winter months. | ![]() |
